WASI

WASIis an action-oriented alliance of women leaders that construct, educate, organize, and advocate for strong and empowered communities through ecological design-build practices, with the aim of creating a socially and ecologically resilient world.  A convergence of global experts and women leaders from 15 countries in North, Central and South America will take place at  CIDEP (The Center for Research, Development and Teaching Permaculture) in March of 2012. These women leaders (WASI Delegates) will then go back to their own counties and communities and implement building projects for the remainder of the year.  The projects will be well documented through various media outlets that will help to tell the story of each community project and natural building as a social and environmental movement.

There will be trips will be with Natives from the following locations: Canada (women's group focused on food security), Hawaii (new sustainability center with a youth at risk slant offered in December 2012) , and South America (country not yet determined but will take place in May 2012 and have an emphasis on water and permaculture).  If you are interested in joining one of these trips I can give you a heads up that they we consist of two weeks in the community learning natural building skills and helping to construct a community building.
